I don’t know when the wonderful writer Philip Hoare started to send out Christmas cards for his friends, but my first arrived in 2017, the year I first read his book RISINGTIDEFALLINGSTAR and started to share my passion for sea books online. Next summer the Sea Library was born.

A few days ago I received my eight postcard from Philip. In his own words: a 16th century version of an orca Oryx.

Each card tells a story, also a story about the sea that connects and unites.
