On November 19 I received 29 letters from Shoreham Beach Primary School in Shoreham, UK. A very special thanks goes to Jackie Verrall for spreading the word, and to the children’s teacher, Adam Joseph, for steering the ship of letters toward the Sea Library. (Check this out!)

I have decided to publish all the kids’ letters in a row. This will be my Sea Library Advent Calendar – only with 29 windows to open instead of just 24.

Eleventh letter is from Axel.

Dear Anna,

My name is Axel. I am 7 years old. I am writing to you because I want you to know what life is like down at Shoreham By-Sea!

There are lot of seagulls. Sometimes they steal your burgers, hotdogs, and chips! What micheveous creatures they are! I wish I had seen a turtle but I don’t usually see any. There are sometimes jellyfish and watch out for the jellyfish with tentickles! They sting. Eek!

Down near the beach you can get fish and chips, burgers (Big Mac), pizza (Dominos & Tides) and hotdogs, but don’t forget icea cream!

P.S. If you have chips down at the beach you do not want to go near the seagulls! (They might steel your food!)

19. novembrī saņēmu 29 vēstules no Shoreham Beach sākumskolas Šorhemā, Apvienotajā Karalistē. No skolas, kas atrodas pludmalē! Īpašs paldies Džekijai Verrallai par ziņas izplatīšanu un bērnu skolotājam Adamam Džozefam par to, ka viņš šo vēstuļu kuģi atstūrēja uz Jūras bibliotēku. (Apskati šo!)

Esmu nolēmusi publicēt visas bērnu vēstules pēc kārtas. Šis būs mans Jūras bibliotēkas adventes kalendārs – tikai ar 29 lodziņiem, ne ierastajiem 24.

Vienpadsmitā vēstule ir no Aksela.

Mīļā Anna,

Mani sauc Aksels. Man ir 7 gadi. Es Tev rakstu, jo vēlos, lai Tu zinātu, kāda ir dzīve Šorhemā pie jūras!

Te ir daudz kaiju. Dažreiz tās nozog Tavus burgerus, hotdogus un čipsus! Kādi palaidnīgi radījumi! Es gribētu redzēt bruņurupuci, bet parasti nevienu neredzu. Dažreiz ir medūzas, un uzmanies no medūzām ar taustekļiem! Tās dzeļ. Ai!

Pie pludmales var dabūt fritētas zivis ar kartupeļiem, burgerus (Big Mac), picas (Domino’s un Tides) un hotdogus, bet neaizmirsti saldējumu!
