On November 19 I received 29 letters from Shoreham Beach Primary School in Shoreham, UK. A very special thanks goes to Jackie Verrall for spreading the word, and to the children’s teacher, Adam Joseph, for steering the ship of letters toward the Sea Library. (Check this out!)

I have decided to publish all the kids’ letters in a row. This will be my Sea Library Advent Calendar – only with 29 windows to open instead of just 24.

Seventeenth letter is from Emmy.

Dear Anna,

My name is Emmy. I am 7 years old. I love living by the sea.

Living by the sea I see lots of sea creatures. I have seen lots of seagulls that steal your chips, real jellyfish pink ones about the size of a steering wheel, rarely I’ve also seen dolphins, hermit crabs even green ones and seals in the hot season and fish.

Our beach is pebbly is your beach a pebbly one or a sandy one. There is also a beach called the secret beach that’s not so secret.

On the beach there are lots of shops there’s also ice cream ship, tides (a pizza place), dominos (a pizza place) and fish and chips.

Books you should read 1: storm whale 2. what the ladybird heard 3. the snail and the whale 4. the sea song 5. the little mermaid.

19. novembrī saņēmu 29 vēstules no Shoreham Beach sākumskolas Šorhemā, Apvienotajā Karalistē. No skolas, kas atrodas pludmalē! Īpašs paldies Džekijai Verrallai par ziņas izplatīšanu un bērnu skolotājam Adamam Džozefam par to, ka viņš šo vēstuļu kuģi atstūrēja uz Jūras bibliotēku. (Apskati šo!)

Esmu nolēmusi publicēt visas bērnu vēstules pēc kārtas. Šis būs mans Jūras bibliotēkas adventes kalendārs – tikai ar 29 lodziņiem, ne ierastajiem 24.

Septiņdsmitā vēstule ir no Emijas.

Mīļā Anna,

Mani sauc Emija. Man ir 7 gadi. Man ļoti patīk dzīvot pie jūras.

Dzīvojot pie jūras, es redzu daudz jūras radību. Esmu redzējusi daudz kaiju, kas zog kartupeļus frī, īstas rozā medūzas apmēram stūres lielumā, reizēm esmu redzējusi arī delfīnus, vientuļkrabjus (pat zaļus) un karstajā sezonā arī roņus un zivis.

Mūsu pludmale ir akmeņaina. Vai tava pludmale ir akmeņaina vai smilšaina? Ir arī pludmale, ko sauc par Slepeno pludmali, kas nemaz nav tik slepena.

Pludmalē ir daudz veikalu. Tur ir arī saldējuma veikals, Tides (picas vieta), Domino’s (picas vieta) un fritētu zivju un kartupeļu kafejnīca.
