583: Jill Heinerth: The Aquanaut

Jill Heinerth is an underwater explorer and a cave diver. More people have walked on the moon than have been to some of the places Jill has explored underwater. This is her story about a shy little girl whose imagination helps her to overcome fears and fulfill her dreams of becoming an aquanaut.

“When I was young, the world seemed too dangerous. Everything was too hard. Places were too far away. I was too young. But that was okay because I had a big imagination.”

“The Aquanaut”. Written by Jill Heinerth. Illustrated by Jaime Kim. Published by Tundra in 2021. Bought thanks to a sold woven bookmark ❤️
