641: Andrey Nekrasov: Prigode Kapitana Vrungla

Captain Vrungel is the sea counterpart of Baron Munchausen, telling tales about his adventures on the voyage. This is a funny story about the incredible adventures of Captain Vrungel, his senior mate Lom and the sailor Fuks, who made a round-the-world voyage on the yacht “Trouble”. The story parodies both stories about sailors, which were popular in the 1930s, and stereotypes about foreigners and individual states. The author – Andrey Sergeevich Nekrasov (Russian Андре́й Серге́евич Некра́сов), 1907–1987, is a Russian Soviet sailor and writer.
